About Us | Good Friends & Company | Delicious Artisan Foods
Here is some information about the people and organization of Good Friends
and Company.
Among all the food webs around today, you have found a very small artisan
company with a diverse background that can make you exceptional, delicious,
American foods.
Artisan foods are simply better than gourmet foods because they are
hand made by a real human. Gourmet foods have mostly become a name attached
to nothing or no-one.
Not so with artisan foods--the name of the person who makes it is up
front and so are the ingredients.
And so is the taste. That's why our food makes great food gifts to your
good friends.
We make soups, deserts and breads, comfort foods and offer them to you
or as gifts, all selected and created from the regions and seasons of
North American food at its best--come on in and experience our treasures,
your pleasures.
Four Seasons

Because our country and its food is so vast, our menu changes often
and always with the seasons.
Each season we will present a new menu of special foods for your eating
pleasure.
When you visit our store you can see how we explore each season for
its fresh ingredients, special flavors and its special foods for healthy
eating. This is one way we are different than other food webs and their
gourmet foods.
Our chef, Herb Dreyer, creates a limited menu of the finest selections
available from each season and shows you how they can be added to your
table, your next dinner, your next celebration with family and friends.
Healthy eating at its best!
Great Food Gifts!

About Our Chef
Our Chef, Herb Dreyer, born in the small coastal town of Santa Barbara,
California to a cooking family--his father was a professional cook and
his mother was a Kentucky farm girl who learned to cook on a wood burning
stove.
As a young boy, the chef has traveled over a large part of America.
During these travels he was fortunate to sample seasonal American foods
grown and cooked by a wide variety of family and friends. Growing up
with this experience, like no other, provided the background for the
chefs love of American foods--especially heirloom vegetables grown in
small farm or a family garden.

From there it was all up. The chef was educated at Reed College in Portland,
Oregon. When he was a teenager he wrote a book on zoology and while
science is important to the chef, his love of cooking re-found him--by
accident!
When he did catch back up with his love of cooking he never looked back--it
was like coming home (well, maybe a few looks back).
His food has been reviewed by some of the finest and toughest food critics
and , of course, his family and customers.
We serve artisan foods for healthy eating at their best and all our
reviewers say our food is "delicious".
Each selection is hand-made from all natural ingredients.

Specials added often!
You will find it easy to find, select and enjoy our artisan foods, to
bring them home and discover the authentic taste of American Foods--or
re-discover. You may want to consider our selection of favorite
samplers as gifts. In fact, that's why we
continue to feel so good about cooking even
after a dozen years in business.
We would love to send you some of our fresh seasonal foods that really
deliver delicious taste. But wait. When you order you should know
that your order has not been made. We only make to order, and
it can take a while longer than you may be accustomed. Made to
order: It's worth it.
Our selection changes with the seasons and the whims of the chef, but
it's always made the freshest ingredients and the freshest ideas for
each of the four seasons. Try our food, it's
simply delicious!
Where ever you may be, your selections are just a click away--remember
what the critic said, "tastes great!".
The reasons are simple: you know who cooks the food, all
your food is hand made with real--natural, healthy ingredients and never,
never has anything artificial--what you get is the real taste of real
American cuisine made by a real person and that is worth eating and
paying for.
Consider what Michael Pollen, the noted journalist, said, "High-quality
food is better for your health. When you go to the grocery store, you
find that the cheapest calories are the ones that are going to make
you the fattest--the added sugars and fats in processed foods." You
can read more about Pollens' comments in our
Food News and Issues page.
Remember: Fake stuff is cheap because it is most often made with ingredients
laced with chemical flavors that make us fat--read on and find out why
we can deliver the taste and the nutrients worth eating.
Our chef, Herb Dreyer, creates a limited
menu of the finest selections available from each season and shows you
how they can be added to your table, your next dinner, your next celebration
for your home food delivery. Our chef is critically acclaimed by some
really tough reviewers.
